In 1976, to celebrate their 100^th anniversary, Whiting & Davis produced the Heritage Collection, known as the “Star Series”, these unique bags featured images of legendary actresses and actors. It was rumored that the bulk of the production was recalled and destroyed because of objections and threats of legal actions from the stars’ heirs. Thus, these bags highly sought after by collectors. This purse was sold by the original owner, who had received it as a gift from her boyfriend when they were young. She put it away in the original box years ago and it was never used.
